About this campaign
Communities deserve a choice. We’ve built one. Now local people can own part of what comes next.
Plenty foods is an independent supermarket where local customers can shop close to home.
A supermarket earns its place one customer at a time. Every trolley through our checkout helps pay local wages, gives a young person a first job, and puts local products on shelves where more people can find them.
Now local people can register to share in the store’s future.
Our investment campaign will open in the coming weeks. Registering your interest does not commit you to invest. It lets you see the offer when it opens and helps us gauge interest. You will not be asked to transfer any money at this stage, purely, if you are considering to become an investor. Thank you!
Register to receive the offer details and decide if it is right for you. This campaign may suit you if you want:
More grocery dollars paying local wages and local suppliers.
More shares held by people who shop in the store.
More first jobs and retail training for young people.
An independent supermarket with fair prices, fresh food and service from local people.
This is not a concept. The supermarket is open and trading.
Here’s what is already in place:
More than a year of trading.
A team of 30 local people.
Thousands of customers served.
A repeat loyal customer base of 63,000 local people.
Strong working relationships with local suppliers.
A practical five-year plan.
I started Plenty foods because I believe communities deserve a choice.
I wanted a supermarket where decisions are made close to the people they affect. I know the team. I listen to customers. A local supplier can speak to us directly and get a clear answer without waiting for approval from another city.
Plenty foods Brewtown opened in November 2025 after two years of planning and development.
Customers tell us what they want: fair prices, fresh food, and helpful service when something goes wrong. We use that feedback to decide what to stock, how to serve people, and where to improve.
"We do not want to be New Zealand’s biggest supermarket. We want to run the kind of supermarket our own families are proud to shop in." Henry Hutcheon
Building a stronger supermarket for the future
The store is trading. Our local team is in place, and thousands of customers shop with us. We are raising capital to improve stock buying, cash flow, stock tracking, and the in-store experience.
Customers already back us at the checkout. The campaign gives them the chance to become shareholders.
A locally owned supermarket sells groceries and keeps more jobs, supplier relationships, and day-to-day decisions in the community. Local businesses get shelf space. Young people get a first job and hands-on retail experience and responds directly to the customers who shop there.
Community ownership gives customers and supporters the chance to own shares in the supermarket they use.
The campaign will open on PledgeMe in the coming weeks. We're gauging interest now so we can reach our target on day one.
Target: $600,000
Shares in the company, and owner discounts
Everyone who registers interest will be notified the moment the campaign goes live on PledgeMe.
Registering interest here involves no money. You're simply letting us know you're keen. Pledge when we go live.
